Pada tahun 1888, kapal dagang Demeter berlayar dari Carpathia ke London untuk mengirimkan kargo berupa 50 peti kayu tanpa label. Namun, para awak kapal segera menyadari bahwa mereka tidak sendirian di atas kapal, karena kehadiran Dracula yang jahat mengubah perjalanan menjadi perjuangan bertahan hidup yang mengerikan.
Film ini mengikuti kisah para awak kapal Demeter saat mereka perlahan-lahan menyerah pada pengaruh jahat Dracula. Satu per satu, mereka terbunuh, tubuh mereka dihabisi darahnya. Hanya kapten, Thomas Hamilton, dan letnan pertamanya, Thomas Corman, yang tersisa. Dalam upaya terakhir untuk menghentikan Dracula, Hamilton dan Corman menabrakkan Demeter ke bebatuan di lepas pantai Whitby. Kapal tenggelam, membawa Dracula bersamanya.
